Greetings and merriment to you!
I hope the lights and anticipation of the coming holidays are lifting the spirits of you and your families at this dark time of year. Our animals are all warm and dry in their winter stalls at night and venturing out here and there in their open yards during the day. It has been a wet, wet fall and winter so far, so we are entering into an early season of mud. The wet ground is very delicate, so the animals are not allowed onto our grazing fields until the spring, when we see three and four days in a row of dry weather. With the ground so delicate the root system of the grazing grasses are at risk of being damaged, leading to poor growth next year. We spend this time of year feeling grateful for our warm and cozy home and family, and the areas of comfort for our animals. Merry Christmas!
