Happy summer from Hollyhock Farm!
We are in the height of the growing season here on the farm. Most things are being harvested. But there are still a few veggies yet to come!
Veggies: We’ve got salad mix, kale, chard, collards, zucchini, radishes, beets, basil, garlic, onions, shallots, tomatoes, and jalapenos all producing. Still waiting on shishitos to get started as well as some salad turnips, and hopefully a few carrots.
Meat: The word in the valley is that Darren Marzolf has gotten USDA processing certification, so I am hoping to have the fall crop of lambs butchered by him! Fingers crossed! In the mean time, I still have sausages available in the farm shop.
Turkeys: We have about 35 turkeys this year. If you would be interested in reserving a holiday turkey, you can just send a message and we’ll get you set up. Turkeys are $9/lb and if you are reserving early with a $50 deposit you can let me know if you want a bigger (20+ lbs) or smaller (12-17lb) turkey and I can accommodate you. Turkeys will be processed in October and frozen until you come pick them up.
Eggs: The hens are enjoying the summer and laying lots of eggs. The farm shop is stocked each weekend, and a limited quantity is available at the farmer’s markets.
